The Italian glassworks Luigi Bormioli was founded in Parma in 1946 and is known as the first factory that could blow the bowl and stem into one on a machine.

Luigi Bormioli researches intensely in making glassware that is sparkling clear and extremely strong, while ensuring a perfect distribution of flavour and aroma. The result is crystal-clear SON.hyx® glass, which intensifies the sensory experience and is up to twice as strong as regular glass. After more than 1,000 washes in the dishwasher, the glasses are still completely transparent. Luigi Bormioli offers a 25-year warranty that covers chipping on the rim or foot as well as any discoloration or cloudiness resulting from washing. This warranty does not cover broken glassware or any glassware damaged as a result of intentional damage or external events. In order to make use of the warranty, the instructions for use must be strictly followed. Luigi Bormioli reserves the right to examine each case and determine in its sole discretion if the claim warrants a replacement or not. Luigi Bormioli makes no other warranty (expressed or implied) for its products with this statement of warranty.
Luigi Bormioli recycles 100% of white glass waste in production, while 67% of the electricity that is used comes from renewable energy sources. 78% of Luigi Bormioli suppliers are Italian and all are screened according to ethical, social and environmental criteria. In addition, the glassworks has many other initiatives to promote climate and sustainability.
